Boarding: Fees

At many other boarding schools, ‘extras’ added to your termly bill can come as quite a shock. Some schools routinely charge ‘extra’ for weekend activities, house trips, diners and functions, but also for text books, paper, and laundry.

 

The boarding fees at Whitgift, which include tuition, are almost fully-inclusive: the advertised fee is essentially the fee you will pay, with only a small number of particular additional charges*.

 

Subject to annual review, the 2016/2017 fee for weekly boarding is £29,704, and £35,522 for full boarding.

 

Flexi-boarding is charged at a nightly rate (details available on request), in addition to the day fee, and includes dinner and breakfast. Advanced notice is required for flexi-boarding places, which are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

An acceptance deposit of £2,500 (UK boarders) and one term's fees (overseas boarders) is payable when parents accept the offer of a boarding place at the School.  The deposit is held until pupils leave the School and all liabilities have been settled.

 

*A few extra items are charged at extra cost, such as public examination entries, individual music lessons, certain trips/expeditions, and dry cleaning.
