Co-Curricular: BBC News Report Day March 2016
Twelve pupils from Journalism Club presented the News for BBC News School report. We report on the opening of Whitgift’s major First World War exhibition, Remembering 1916 – Life on the Western Front on the day of its launch; we have an interview and pictures from a Junior Doctor on the picket line; we feature an original on-location report from Croydon Refugee Centre and we stage our own mini EU summit on the UK EU referendum. Watch the highlights from these reports and lots more.
Additonally we have Year 11 pupils, Christian and Saam, interview Tim Flesher, who was the Private Secretary for Political Affairs for Margaret Thatcher. He reflects on the highlights of a career which involved briefing the Prime Minister and her Cabinet on a daily basis, and speculates on what Baroness Thatcher’s views on the European Referendum might be.
