Admissions: Fees

2015 - 2016 Fees

The fees for the 2015 - 2016 academic year are £17,988 (day), £28,980 (weekly boarding) and £34,656 (full boarding).  The fees are payable termly in advance (£5,996 day pupils, £9,660 weekly boarding and £11,552 full boarding), or monthly by direct debit.

2016 - 2017 Fees

The fees for the 2016 - 2017 academic year are £18,618 (day), £29,704 (weekly boarding) and £35,522 (full boarding).  The fees are payable termly in advance (£6,206 day pupils, £9,902 weekly boarding and £11,841 full boarding), or monthly by direct debit.

The fees include the cost of most stationery and textbooks, games and school societies, but exclude a small number of items, such as public examination and UCAS entry fees. Individual music tuition is provided at an extra charge. In addition, an entrance fee of £130 is payable on the first term’s account for those who have been accepted for admission. School lunches are compulsory for Lower First and Upper First boys only and are invoiced termly at a fixed price of £3.85 per day for 2015-2016.  The school lunch cost for 2016-2017 to be confirmed.

A deposit of £800 (day students) or £2,500 (UK boarding students) or one term's fees (overseas boarding students) is payable on acceptance of a place at Whitgift. This will be retained in full until the pupil leaves, on completion of his full School Course, when it will be refunded less any balance owing to the School. Once a place has been accepted, if a boy is withdrawn at any point before joining Whitgift, a full term's fees will be due, in addition to the loss of the deposit.

The Entrance Examination fee which accompanies the Application Form is £100 for UK students and £130 for overseas students. If late applications are accepted, an extra £20 will be charged.

The Governors reserve the right to review or alter fees at any time and with a notice period of half a term.

Remission of Fees

Parents who would like their son to come to Whitgift should not be deterred by financial reasons from applying as it is the policy of the Whitgift Foundation to make the education offered as widely available as possible by way of Scholarships, Bursaries and Boarding Awards.
